We're off

So Google's DNI people said yes, they would like to give me some money to get EegiArki off the ground.

That is pretty awesome, and also the easy part. The hard work starts now, I guess. "I guess," because I've never done this before.

This blog is going to document the whole process, in relatively real time, of taking a germ of an idea and trying to build it into something substantial. Or at least, workable. And if it all goes to the gutter, well that will be documented too.

EegiArki is (will be) a tool that will bridge the gap between 'citizen reporters' and anyone who's interested in seeing pictures and video of newsworthy events. That will include mainstream media.

It helps people see and use visuals they would otherwise not have access to, and provides citizen reporters with a vast array of outlets and platforms to showcase their content.

There's a lot to think about now, and a lot still to tell, but for now I'd like to say thanks to the guys at Google DNI, and invite you, if you're interested in following the EegiArki story, to sign up to our newsletter.

Thanks, and see you again soon.

James
